Why visit Urdaneta?
Urdaneta is a component city in eastern Pangasinan, situated at the major junction of MacArthur Highway (N2) and key routes leading to Baguio and Dagupan. With a population of approximately 145,900, it functions as the central commercial and transportation crossroad for eastern Pangasinan and the broader Ilocos Region.
Founded in the 19th century and named after Spanish friar and navigator Andrés de Urdaneta, the city originated as an agricultural settlement. Today, it operates as Northern Luzon's primary agricultural distribution center, hosting the Urdaneta Bagsakan Market, a 24-hour wholesale hub where produce from the Cordillera mountains and central Luzon plains is traded daily. Retail developments like SM City Urdaneta Central line the main highway corridors.
Urdaneta experiences a tropical monsoon climate with distinct dry and wet seasons. Average daytime temperatures range between 26°C and 34°C (79°F to 93°F) year-round, with high relative humidity.
