About Luque
Luque is a major city in Central department, part of the Greater Asunción metropolitan area. It is Paraguay's fourth-largest city, with a population of roughly 300,000, and serves as the nation's craft capital, particularly known for silver filigree (filigrana) jewellery. The city is also home to the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport and Paraguay's national football stadium, Estadio Defensores del Chaco. Luque has a lively commercial centre and a strong artisan tradition that draws both local and international visitors. The climate is subtropical, with hot humid summers and mild winters; May–September offers the best conditions.
