Why visit?

Veles

Veles (Macedonian: Велес) is a city in the Povardarie region of North Macedonia on both sides of the Vardar, the country's most important river. The city is home to over 43,000 residents, making it the sixth-largest in the country. The larger Municipality of Veles, which includes 27 villages, has a total population of over 55,000. The Macedonian capital, Skopje , is northwest of the city.

When is the best time to visit?

The best time to visit Veles is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) when temperatures are mild and the landscape is at its most vibrant. Summer months (July to August) can be warm but are pleasant for outdoor activities. Winter (November to March) brings colder temperatures and occasional snow, which can add a different charm to the area.

Spring and early summer are ideal for hiking and exploring the countryside, while autumn offers beautiful foliage and harvest festivals. Check local calendars for any village festivals or cultural events that might enhance your visit.
