Why visit Wase?

Wase is a historic town in southern Plateau State, the headquarters of Wase local government area. It is the seat of the Emir of Wase, a traditional ruler whose domain includes a mix of Fulani, Hausa, and Tarok communities. Wase lies in a lowland area south of the Plateau escarpment, with a drier, hotter climate than the highlands. The town is a centre for rice, sorghum, and livestock production. The Wase Rock, a massive inselberg, is a notable local landmark.
