Why visit Okomu National Park?

Okomu National Park is a protected rainforest reserve in Edo State, covering about 181 km² of lowland tropical forest. It is one of the last remaining habitats for the white-throated guenon, red-capped mangabey, and forest elephants in Nigeria. The park features a canopy walkway, bird hides, and guided nature trails through pristine forest. Okomu offers an accessible ecotourism experience with basic accommodation and is a haven for birdwatchers and primate enthusiasts.

How do you get there?

By Plane

Benin Airport (BNI) is about 70 km north-east.

By Car / Road

Okomu is south-west of Benin City, about 1.5 hours by road. Take the Benin–Sapele road to the Udo junction, then follow the park access road. A 4×4 is recommended in the rainy season.
