Why visit Bama?
Bama is a historic town in eastern Borno State, near the Cameroon border. It was the second-largest city in Borno before the Boko Haram insurgency, which devastated the town and displaced most of its population. The town is the headquarters of Bama LGA and a traditional Kanuri settlement.
Security conditions are extremely volatile. Travel to Bama is not recommended without official military clearance.
