Daman
Bagmati, Nepal
Why visit Daman?
Daman is a small hilltop settlement at 2,400 m on the Tribhuvan Highway between Kathmandu and the Terai, famous for offering one of the most spectacular panoramic Himalayan views in Nepal. On a clear day, the vista stretches from Dhaulagiri in the west to Everest in the east – a sweep of over 300 km. The village is tiny but strategically located for sunrise viewing.
The climate is cool and often windy. Evenings and mornings are cold year-round. The best season for mountain views is October–April. The monsoon (June–September) brings thick clouds.
