Donja Lastva

Donja Lastva is a beautiful coastal village located in the Tivat municipality, situated just 2 km north of the Tivat town center. It is a traditional coastal settlement that has preserved much of its old-world charm, featuring traditional stone houses, narrow streets, and a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. The village lies along the waterfront, offering beautiful views of the Bay of Kotor and the Vrmac mountain ridge.

Donja Lastva is easily reached by walking north from Tivat along the coastal promenade (about 20 minutes). It is also served by local buses running between Tivat and the Lepetane ferry. Tivat Airport is just a 10-minute drive away.

The village is flat and easily explored on foot. The coastal road is quiet and ideal for walking along the sea.

The main landmark is the Church of St. Roch (Sveti Roko), a historic Catholic church sitting right on the waterfront. The village features beautiful examples of traditional coastal architecture, with stone jetties and old stone houses.

Swim and sunbathe on the local pebble and concrete beaches, which are quieter than those in central Tivat. Stroll along the waterfront path at sunset. Hike up the Vrmac hill to the historic village of Gornja Lastva.

Several excellent waterfront restaurants and taverns serve fresh Adriatic fish, seafood risottos, and Mediterranean dishes in a traditional, relaxed setting.

Seaside cafes and quiet bars offer coffee, local beer, and wine. The nightlife is peaceful and centers around waterfront dining.

Accommodation includes several small, family-run hotels (such as Hotel Eco Carrubba) and a wide selection of private holiday apartments and rooms.

There are a few local grocery shops and bakeries in the village. For major shopping and boutique retail, visitors can easily walk to nearby Porto Montenegro.

From Donja Lastva, you can walk south to the luxury marina of Porto Montenegro and Tivat, or hike uphill to the medieval village of Gornja Lastva.
