Rafailovici
Budva, Montenegro
Why visit Rafailovici?
Rafailovići is a charming, picturesque coastal settlement situated at the eastern end of the expansive Bečići beach on Montenegro's famed Budva Riviera. Once a quiet, traditional fishing village inhabited by the Rafailović family, it has evolved over recent decades into a popular resort destination. Despite its development, Rafailovići has managed to retain a more relaxed, intimate, and family-friendly atmosphere compared to the bustling, high-energy city of Budva just a few kilometers to the west.
The settlement's layout is centered around its scenic waterfront promenade (Šetalište) and a small marina, where local fishing boats still dock alongside modern yachts. The towering limestone cliffs at the eastern edge of the bay provide a dramatic backdrop, separating Rafailovići from the quieter Kamenovo beach. The town is highly pedestrian-friendly, with the coastal promenade serving as the main artery for walking, dining, and socializing.
Rafailovići enjoys a classic Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The peak tourist season runs from July to August, when the beach is crowded, temperatures frequently exceed 30°C (86°F), and prices are at their highest. For a more tranquil experience with pleasant weather and warm sea temperatures, the shoulder seasons of May to June and September to October are highly recommended.
