Koulikoro, Mali

Why visit Bancoumana?

Bancoumana is a small town and rural commune in the Cercle of Kati, Koulikoro Region, on the left bank of the Niger River about 60 km southwest of Bamako. The commune includes 13 surrounding villages and had a population of just over 21,700 at the 2009 census. The Niger River valley through this stretch of the Kati Cercle supports farming (groundnuts, cotton, tobacco) as well as fishing, and small riverside fishing settlements are a regular sight further downstream from the town.
