Kuala Selangor
Selangor, Malaysia
Why visit Kuala Selangor?
Kuala Selangor is a coastal town in Selangor, 60 km north-west of Kuala Lumpur, famously the best place in Malaysia to see synchronous fireflies (kelip-kelip) that light up the mangrove trees along the Selangor River at night. The town is also home to the historic Bukit Melawati hill, a former royal burial site and fort with a lighthouse and silver-leaf monkey population, and is known for its excellent seafood restaurants.
