Bekok

Why visit Bekok?
Bekok is a small town in the Segamat district of northern Johor, located about 60 km east of Segamat town and 120 km northwest of Johor Bahru. The name "Bekok" is onomatopoeic, believed to originate from the sound of bamboo being knocked together. It sits near the Johor-Pahang border, surrounded by palm oil plantations and pristine rainforest. Bekok is best known as the western gateway to the Endau-Rompin National Park — specifically the Selai access point. The town itself is a quiet rural settlement with a railway station, a few shops, basic eateries, and a small market. Its main draw for travellers is as a supply stop before heading into the park.
