Luchenza

Why visit Luchenza?
Luchenza is a town of around 14,000 people in Thyolo District, southern Malawi, between Blantyre and Thyolo. It has a station on the Sena railway (under concession to Central East African Railways), a historic link in the rail corridor that once carried the region's agricultural exports — including tea — to coastal ports via the Trans-Zambezi railway. The Thyolo tea estates, where tea has been grown since 1908, lie about 30 minutes' drive from town and can be visited on estate walks.
