Anakao is a tiny beach village on the south-west coast of Madagascar. This is a traditional Vezo fishing village, isolated and largely protected from mass tourism. The beach here is long and white and good for fishing, diving, and surfing.
The best time to visit is during the dry season from April to October when the weather is most settled.

By Plane
The nearest airport is in Toliara (TLE IATA). From Toliara, most visitors reach Anakao by boat.
By Car / Road
Road access is possible but very rough. Most visitors take a boat from Toliara, which makes the round trip each morning.
The village is walkable. For exploring the area, boats can be hired from local fishermen.
What are the things to do?
The main attraction is the long white beach and the traditional Vezo fishing culture. The surrounding waters offer good snorkelling.
