Why visit Malaba?

Malaba is one of East Africa's busiest border posts, situated on the Kenya–Uganda frontier. It marks the end of Kenya's A104 highway and the railway line from Nairobi as they cross into Uganda. The town is a strip of customs offices, truck parks, warehouses, and bustling roadside businesses catering to long-distance drivers and cross-border traders. While not a tourist destination, it is a fascinating window into the scale of East African trade, with hundreds of trucks queueing daily.
