Tabaqat Fahl (ancient Pella) is an archaeological site in the Jordan Valley within Irbid Governorate. One of the oldest continuously inhabited sites in the world, Pella was a member of the Decapolis and has yielded remains from the Bronze Age through the Islamic period. The site is set in a dramatic valley with natural springs.
The climate in the Jordan Valley is hot semi-arid: summer temperatures exceed 38 °C, while winters are mild (15–22 °C). The site is best visited in spring or autumn.

By Car / Road
Tabaqat Fahl is in the Jordan Valley, 30 km west of Irbid (30 min via the descent from the highlands). From Amman, the drive takes 1.5–2 hours. No regular public transport.
The site is explored on foot. A car is needed to reach it.
