Hirado
Nagasaki, Japan
Why visit Hirado?
Hirado (平戸) is a city on the northwestern coast of Nagasaki Prefecture, located on Hirado Island and parts of the neighboring Kyushu mainland. It was one of Japan's first contact points with Europeans, serving as a Dutch and English trading post in the 17th century. Hirado Castle overlooks the port, and the city retains a rich history of cross-cultural exchange. The scenic coastline and nearby islands make it a peaceful destination. Spring and autumn are the best seasons.
