How do you get there?

Specchia is accessible by car from Lecce (53 km south) via the SS275 and SP361 roads. The nearest train station is in Tricase (8 km away) on the Lecce-Gagliano del Capo line, with connecting buses. The closest airport is Brindisi (100 km).

Specchia is a compact hilltop village best explored entirely on foot. The narrow alleys and stairways of the historic centre connect the main sights. Parking is available at the edge of the old town.

Specchia has a few family-run trattorias serving traditional Salento cuisine. Expect orecchiette pasta, grilled local meats, seasonal vegetables, and the region's excellent olive oil. Summer evenings see outdoor dining in the picturesque piazzas.
