Lalejin

Lalejin is a city in northern Hamadan Province, famous nationwide as Iran's centre of ceramic and pottery production. Over 60% of the population works in the pottery industry, making Lalejin the "Porcelain Capital of Iran." The city sits at 1,700 m elevation on the Hamadan plain.

Small restaurants around the main square serve Persian food.

• Most visitors stay in Hamadan and day trip.

Ceramics and pottery of every description: dishes, vases, tiles, decorative pieces, and traditional Lalejin blue-and-white ware. Prices are far below Tehran or Isfahan.
