Why visit Jahrom?

Jahrom (جهرم) is a city in southern Fārs Province, about 170 km southeast of Shiraz. It is known for its date palms (particularly the Jahrom date, considered among Iran's best) and its mild climate. The city has a history stretching back to the Sassanid period and is a centre of medical research.

The climate is hot semi-arid, with mild winters and very hot summers. The best time to visit is November–March.

Jahrom is on the road between Shiraz and Lar. Buses from Shiraz.
