Tuobodom is the capital of Techiman North District in Bono East Region, an agricultural settlement primarily engaged in yam and food-crop farming. The town's Akan ancestors trace their history to a group that broke away from the Nta and sheltered in a large cave known as Amowi in the neighbouring Nkoranza traditional area. Tuobodom was among seven villages reclaimed by the Techimanhene from Asante control after the Asante defeat of 1896.
