Rio Campo Nature Reserve

Rio Campo Nature Reserve is a protected coastal area in Litoral Province on the mainland of Equatorial Guinea, located along the border with Gabon at the mouth of the Río Campo. The reserve protects a mosaic of coastal rainforest, mangrove swamps, and sandy beaches. It is an important site for sea turtle nesting and hosts a variety of bird and primate species.

The reserve is remote and has minimal visitor infrastructure. Access requires a 4WD vehicle and local guidance. It suits adventurous travellers interested in coastal wildlife and pristine natural environments.

Bata Airport (BSG) is about 120 km north. Road travel is required.

By Car / Road

Access is by unpaved roads south from Bata. A 4WD vehicle is essential. Local guides are strongly recommended.
