Why visit Nymburk?

Nymburk is a city in the Central Bohemia region, located approximately 53 km east of Prague at the confluence of the Elbe (Labe) and Mrlina rivers. Founded around 1275 as a royal city, Nymburk has a well-preserved historic town centre protected as an urban monument zone. The city was damaged during the Thirty Years' War but retained much of its medieval character.

The historic centre features distinctive brick Gothic architecture, unusual for the Czech lands, reflecting North German building traditions. The city walls, churches, and Renaissance town hall are notable landmarks. With about 15,000 inhabitants, Nymburk maintains a pleasant small-town atmosphere.

The climate follows the continental pattern. The Elbe river valley provides scenic walking and cycling opportunities.
