Why visit Aradippou?
Aradippou (Greek: Αραδίππου) is a municipality and suburb of Larnaca, located just northeast of the city centre. Established as a municipality in 1986, Aradippou has transitioned from a traditionally agricultural community into a thriving residential, commercial, and light industrial hub. Despite its modern development, it retains a strong sense of local identity and community.
The town's history is deeply connected to the surrounding Larnaca region, and it is named after King Aradippus, a legendary figure of antiquity. The patron saint of the town is Saint George, and his feast day is one of the most important cultural events in the local calendar.
Aradippou is situated on flat plains, with the Rizoelia National Forest Park forming its most significant natural feature. The climate is Mediterranean, characterized by hot, dry summers and mild winters, making spring and autumn the most pleasant times to visit.
