Vindza

Vindza is a district in Pool Department, Republic of the Congo, and one of the areas most affected by the region's conflicts. Even years after the official end of fighting between the army and militias, Vindza remained largely unreconstructed, and it was again among the areas affected by renewed tension in Pool in the mid-2010s. Schools in the district were destroyed or shut for lack of teachers, and humanitarian assessments (including by the ICRC) in 2018 identified urgent health and nutrition needs there.
