Why visit Etoumbi?
Etoumbi is a small river town in northern Cuvette-Ouest department, located on or near a tributary of the Alima River. The town is remote, with basic services and a small market. The population lives by fishing, farming, and small-scale trade. The surrounding forest is dense and largely unexplored by outsiders.
The dry season (June–September) is the best time to visit when the access roads are passable.
