About Gyalpozhing

Gyalpozhing (also spelled Gaylegphug or Gelephu not to be confused with Sarpang's Gelephu) is a small town in Monggar district, eastern Bhutan, situated on the Lateral Road between Mongar and Trashigang. It is a quiet settlement that serves the surrounding agricultural villages. The area is known for orange and cardamom cultivation.

Gyalpozhing has basic amenities and sees very few tourists. It is primarily a transit point for travellers on the east-west highway.

Yongphulla Airport (YON IATA) is about 2 hours by road.

Gyalpozhing is about 1 hour east of Mongar on the Lateral Road. Buses on the Mongar–Trashigang route pass through.
