Why visit Isa Town?

Isa Town (Arabic: مدينة عيسى) is a planned town in the Southern Governorate of Bahrain, named after the former ruler Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. Established roughly five decades ago as a modern residential and civic centre, the town is best known for its vibrant traditional marketplace and family-oriented attractions. It offers a quieter, more suburban alternative to the bustle of nearby Manama while still providing convenient access to the capital.

The town is laid out in a grid of residential blocks surrounding a central civic core that includes the Isa Town Marketplace, Khalifa Sports City, a large modern hospital, and a university campus. Isa Town is also home to the Bahrain Science Center and the Adhari Park amusement park, making it a popular destination for families. The climate mirrors the rest of Bahrain — scorching summers and mild winters — with November to March being the most comfortable period for outdoor exploration.

By Plane

Bahrain International Airport (BAH IATA) in Muharraq is approximately 20 km northeast of Isa Town, about a 20-minute drive via the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Highway. A taxi from the airport costs around BD 6–8. Bus route A2 connects the airport to Isa Town.

By Car / Road

Isa Town is located along the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Highway, roughly 15 km south of central Manama (20 minutes by car).
