Why visit Yamba?
Yamba is a coastal town at the mouth of the Clarence River in northern New South Wales. It is a popular holiday destination known for its beautiful beaches, surfing breaks, and relaxed coastal lifestyle. The town has a population of around 6,000 but swells significantly during the holiday season. The Yaegl people are the traditional custodians of the area. European settlement began in the 1860s, and Yamba developed as a fishing port and later as a seaside resort. The climate is subtropical with warm summers and mild winters.

By Plane
The nearest airport is Clarence Valley Regional Airport at Grafton (GFN), about 30 km west, with flights from Sydney and other centres via Link Airways. Coffs Harbour Airport (CFS) is approximately 80 km south with more frequent services.
By Train
Yamba railway station (a request stop) is on the NSW TrainLink North Coast line with services from Sydney and Brisbane. The station is located about 3 km from the town centre.
By Car / Road
Yamba is accessible via the Pacific Highway (A1), turning off at the Yamba Road exit near Maclean. From Sydney, allow about 6 hours (650 km). From Brisbane, allow about 3.5 hours (330 km).
Yamba is best explored by car, though the town centre and beaches are walkable. Local taxi services are available. Bicycle hire is available for exploring the coastal paths. The Yuraygir Coastal Walk passes through the area.
