Aixirivall
Sant Julia de Loria, Andorra
Why visit Aixirivall?
Aixirivall is a mountain village in the parish of Sant Julià de Lòria in southern Andorra. Situated at an altitude of 1,356 meters on the slopes above the Gran Valira river valley, it forms one of the traditional rural quarters (quarts) of the parish. The village consists of stone houses with slate roofs, agricultural terraces, and steep cobbled lanes overlooking the forested valley.
Historically a farming and livestock hamlet, Aixirivall has transitioned into a residential village and a base for outdoor recreation. Its position midway up the mountain ridge places it directly along the route connecting the parish capital on the valley floor with the pine forests of La Peguera and the Naturland mountain park.
The village has a Pyrenean mountain climate shaped by its altitude. Winters bring freezing temperatures and regular snowfall, while summers remain warm during the day and brisk after sunset.
