Doan Hung

Phú Thọ, Viet Nam

Why visit Doan Hung?

Đoan Hùng is a district in northern Phú Thọ Province, situated along the Red River near the border with Tuyên Quang Province. The district centre is Đoan Hùng town, a long-established market town that grew around river trade. Historically, Đoan Hùng was an important strategic location during the Trần dynasty's wars against the Mongols. Today it is known for its bưởi Đoan Hùng (Đoan Hùng pomelo), a famous Vietnamese citrus variety, and its scenic river landscapes. The climate is northern monsoon: hot humid summers and cool dry winters. Visit in October–November (pomelo season) or March–April.
