Cam Le
Đà Nẵng, Viet Nam
Why visit Cam Le?
Cam Le is the southernmost urban district of Da Nang, separated from the city centre by the Han River. It was created in 2005 from the southern wards of Hai Chau district and parts of Hoa Vang. The district covers an area of about 36 km² and has a population of around 140,000. Cam Le is primarily a residential and industrial district, home to several large factories, the Hoa Cam industrial zone, and expanding suburban housing developments.
The district borders the southern bank of the Han River, giving it a long riverfront that is being gradually developed with parks and residential towers. Its southern edge transitions into the agricultural commune land of Hoa Vang. The climate mirrors Da Nang's tropical monsoon pattern. Cam Le is less tourist-focused than Hai Chau or Son Tra, offering a glimpse of everyday suburban life in a Vietnamese municipality.

Ask on WhatsAppHow do you get there?
By Plane
Da Nang International Airport (DAD) is 8 km north of Cam Le — a 15-minute taxi ride costing 100,000–150,000 VND. Grab cars are readily available.
By Train
Da Nang Railway Station is 9 km north (20 min by taxi). To reach Cam Le from the station, cross the Han River via the Nguyễn Văn Trỗi or Tiên Sơn bridges.
By Car / Road
Cam Le is accessed from central Da Nang via the Nguyễn Văn Trỗi Bridge (connecting Hai Chau) or the Trần Thị Lý–Nguyễn Hữu Thọ road corridor. National Highway 1A runs through the district's western edge, connecting to Hoi An (25 km south, 30 min) and the rest of Quảng Nam province. Local buses (line 4 and line 10) connect Cam Le to Da Nang city centre.
Cam Le is car- and motorbike-dependent; the districts sprawls horizontally and most points of interest are not within walking distance of each other. Grab cars and motorbikes are the most practical transport for visitors. Local buses run along the main roads (Nguyễn Hữu Thọ, Trường Chinh, Cách Mạng Tháng Tám) but are infrequent.
What are the things to do?
Han River South Bank: The southern riverfront opposite Hai Chau offers a quieter perspective of the city skyline and the Dragon Bridge. A park is being developed along the water's edge.
Helio Center: Da Nang's largest events and exhibition venue, hosting trade fairs, concerts, and the annual Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) events.
Tượng Đài Mẹ Suốt: A monument to the heroic mother who ferried soldiers across the river during the Vietnam War.
Walk or cycle the southern Han River embankment in the late afternoon for skyline views.
Attend an event at the Helio Center — the Fireworks Festival (June) draws large crowds.
Explore the Hòa Cường and Hòa Xuân neighbourhoods for local markets and suburban street life.
