About Valencia
Valencia is the third-largest city in Venezuela and the capital of Carabobo state. Founded in 1555, it developed into a major industrial and commercial hub while retaining a historic colonial core. The city sits on the banks of the Valencia Lake (Lago de Valencia), surrounded by fertile agricultural valleys and the mountains of the Cordillera de la Costa.
The climate is tropical savanna with average temperatures of 24–32 °C. The dry season runs from December to April. Valencia is noticeably cooler than the coast due to its inland elevation (500 m).
Valencia combines a well-preserved historic centre around Plaza Bolívar with sprawling modern districts, industrial zones, and shopping centres. The metropolitan area includes Naguanagua, San Diego, and Guacara.
