San Juan de Payara

San Juan de Payara is a historic llanos town in Apure in Apure state, Venezuela. Founded in 1768, The local economy is based on cattle ranching and agriculture.

The climate is tropical with average temperatures of 25–33 °C year-round. The dry season from December to April offers the most comfortable conditions for travel, while the wet season (May–November) brings afternoon showers that can make rural roads muddy.

The town is arranged around a central Plaza Bolívar, with the church, municipal offices, and commercial activity concentrated in the centre. Residential neighbourhoods extend outward into the surrounding agricultural or ranching countryside.
