About Aguadilla

Aguadilla, known as the "Garden of the Atlantic," is a city in the Porta del Sol region on Puerto Rico's northwest coast. It offers a compelling mix of beautiful beaches, historic sites, water sports, and the convenience of its own airport. The city was the site of Christopher Columbus's first landing in Puerto Rico in 1493, and this history is commemorated throughout the town center.

The historic downtown features a Spanish-style plaza, colonial church, and municipal buildings surrounded by shops and restaurants. Aguadilla is also known for its former Ramey Air Force Base, which has been converted into a commercial and tourism district with hotels, casinos, and recreation facilities. The city serves as the commercial hub of the region, with several shopping centers and a wide range of dining options. Aguadilla's west coast location means it receives less rain than eastern Puerto Rico, with sunny weather most of the year. The best time to visit is from December to April when temperatures are pleasantly warm (75–85°F) and rainfall is minimal.
