Why visit Stillwater?

Stillwater is a lively college town in the Frontier Country region of Oklahoma, home to Oklahoma State University (OSU). With a population of approximately 50,000 (2019), it has a distinct small-town feel combined with a welcoming midwestern atmosphere. OSU brings a young, diverse population that enriches the city's culture, with the population peaking during homecoming football weekends.

The city features several distinct districts, each with its own character. Downtown Stillwater offers boutique shops and local dining, while The Strip (University Avenue) is lined with bars, restaurants, and shops catering to the student population. Stillwater is known for its strong community spirit and the "Cowboy Culture" of OSU athletics.

Lake McMurtry and Lake Carl Blackwell provide outdoor recreation opportunities just outside the city. The area offers a blend of college-town energy with outdoor adventure and small-town hospitality.

Climate is humid subtropical with hot summers (average highs around 94°F / 34°C) and cold winters (average highs around 48°F / 9°C). Spring brings the possibility of severe weather. Fall is the most pleasant season, particularly during football season.
