Medzhybizh

Medzhybizh (Ukrainian: Меджибіж) is famous for the Medzhybizh Fortress, a 16th-century star-shaped citadel that served as a residence for Cossack hetmans.

The regional rail network connects Medzhybizh to the main Kyiv–Khmelnytska line. Local trains ('elektrichky') stop several times daily.

By car

Regional roads lead to Medzhybizh from the main highways. Road conditions vary; a vehicle with reasonable ground clearance is recommended for the last section.

By bus

Regular marshrutka services run from the oblast capital and nearby rayon centres throughout the day.

The village is walkable; most points of interest are within a 15–20 minute walk from the centre. Taxis are inexpensive and can be hired for trips to outlying areas. Bicycle rental is occasionally available.
