Pryluky

Pryluky (Ukrainian: Прилуки) is an ancient settlement on the Udai River with a 17th-century fortress and a well-preserved Cossack cathedral.

This quiet historic town west of Kyiv in Chernihivska oblast offers an authentic glimpse of provincial Ukrainian life. Away from the main tourist circuit, visitors can experience unhurried daily rhythms, local hospitality, and a genuine sense of place that larger cities have lost.

By train

The regional rail network connects Pryluky to the main Kyiv–Chernihivska line. Local trains ('elektrichky') stop several times daily.

By car

Regional roads lead to Pryluky from the main highways. Road conditions vary; a vehicle with reasonable ground clearance is recommended for the last section.

By bus

Regular marshrutka services run from the oblast capital and nearby rayon centres throughout the day.

The historic town is walkable; most points of interest are within a 15–20 minute walk from the centre. Taxis are inexpensive and can be hired for trips to outlying areas. Bicycle rental is occasionally available.
