About Gerze

Gerze is a district town in Sinop Province, on the Black Sea coast about 30 km east of Sinop city. With a population of around 10,000, it is a quiet coastal town with a fishing harbour and small beaches. The economy is based on fishing, agriculture, and small-scale tourism.

The climate is humid subtropical with warm summers and cool, rainy winters. Summer is the main season for beach activities.

How to reach

By Plane

Sinop Airport (ICQ, 35 km west) with flights from Istanbul.

By Car / Road

Gerze is on the D010 coastal highway between Sinop (30 min) and Samsun (2 hr). Minibuses run frequently.

The town is walkable. The beach is a short walk from the centre.
