About Dikmen

Dikmen is a district town in Sinop Province, about 50 km south of Sinop city in the forested hills of the Black Sea region. With a population of around 3,000, it is a small, quiet rural town surrounded by forests and farmland. The local economy is based on agriculture and forestry, with corn and livestock being the main products.

The climate is transitional between Black Sea and continental, with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. Spring and autumn are the best visiting seasons. The town's setting in the wooded hills provides a peaceful atmosphere.

How to reach

By Plane

Sinop Airport (ICQ, 55 km north) with flights from Istanbul.

By Train

No railway connection. The nearest station is in Kastamonu.

By Car / Road

Dikmen is connected by local roads to Sinop (1 hr) and Gerze (40 min). Limited minibus service operates from Sinop.

The town is compact and walkable. For travel to surrounding villages, a private vehicle is recommended.
