Why visit Namtok Ngao National Park?

Namtok Ngao National Park (อุทยานแห่งชาติน้ำตกหงาว) is a national park in Ranong Province, southern Thailand, approximately 30 km south of Ranong town. Declared a national park on 3 June 1999, it covers an area of 668 km² (417,500 rai) and is dominated by moist evergreen forest fed by the region's long rainy season. The park's name means "Ngao Waterfall," referring to the multi-tiered waterfall that is its centrepiece. The forest is home to diverse wildlife, including several species of birds, monkeys, and small mammals.

The park sees relatively few visitors compared to Thailand's better-known national parks, making it a peaceful destination for nature lovers and hikers. The best time to visit is the dry season from November to April, when the trails are accessible and the waterfall is still flowing strongly after the rains.
