Mendeleyevsk

Mendeleyevsk is a small city of approximately 25,000 people located on the banks of the Kama River in Tatarstan, about 130 km from Kazan. The city is named after the great Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev, who lived and worked in the nearby town of Bobylevo. The city grew around a chemical plant established in the Soviet era and retains a quiet, provincial character.

The Kama River provides scenic views and recreational opportunities. The surrounding landscape is mixed forest and agricultural land. Climate is continental with warm summers and cold winters. Mendeleyevsk is connected to Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny by road and rail.
