Kozlovka
Chuvashskaya Respublika, Russia
Why visit Kozlovka?
Kozlovka is a small town of approximately 15,000 people located on the right bank of the Volga River in the Chuvash Republic, roughly 40 km northeast of Cheboksary. It sits on a scenic stretch of the river, with views across the Volga to the opposite bank and the flat Tatarstan shore beyond. The town has a relaxed, rural character — a place of river views, small gardens, and quiet streets that reflects the unhurried pace of life in Russia's Volga heartland.
The climate is continental with warm summers (July highs around 25°C) and cold winters (January lows around −14°C). The Volga moderates conditions slightly. Summer is the best time to visit, with warm days, green riverbanks, and pleasant conditions for walking and fishing. The surrounding landscape is flat agricultural land with patches of deciduous forest.
Kozlovka is laid out along the riverbank, with the town centre and main streets running parallel to the Volga. The river bluffs provide elevated views, and paths lead down to the water's edge.
