Bełchatów

Bełchatów is a town in the Łódź Voivodship of Poland . It's famous for its coal mines and the largest coal fuelled thermal power plant in Europe.

By car

Probably the easiest way to get into Bełchatów from Łódź is to head south on the international E75 highway, then around Piotrków Trybunalski merge westward onto the E67 as if you were heading toward Wrocław .

Of course, if you're heading toward Bełchatów from Wrocław simply follow the E67 until you arrive in Bełchatów.

The town centre of Belchatow is compact and walkable. Local buses connect the main districts and nearby attractions. Taxis are available from the train station.

Belchatow has a historic centre with traditional architecture, a parish church, and several notable historic buildings reflecting the local heritage.
