Why visit?

) Matagalpa

Matagalpa is the biggest city and commercial center of the Northern Highlands of Nicaragua .

With its temperate climate, it is a good base for mountain hiking, tours of coffee farms, visits to indigenous villages, or bird watching in the area.

When is the best time to visit?

The best time to visit Matagalpa is during the dry season from November to April, when conditions are most favourable for outdoor exploration and travel between towns. The rainy season (May to October) brings lush greenery but can make some rural roads difficult to navigate. Local festivals and holidays may also influence the best timing for a visit.
