Overview

Omusati is a region in northwestern Namibia, part of the densely populated Ovambo heartland. The name means "the place of the mopane tree." The landscape is flat with scattered oshana floodplains, mopane woodland, and palm trees. The Kunene River forms the region's western border with Angola, featuring the dramatic Ruacana Falls.

When to Visit

The dry months (May to October) are best. The rainy season transforms the landscape.
