The locality is surrounded by fertile fields and is characterized by a quiet, residential atmosphere with narrow winding streets and historic limestone houses.

Safi has a rich history dating back to the Roman period, with several archaeological remains found in the area. Today, it offers a peaceful retreat for travelers looking to experience an authentic, traditional Maltese village.
