Msida is a bustling harbor town situated on the northeastern coast of Malta, along the shores of the Marsamxett Harbour. Originally a quiet fishing village, Msida has developed into a busy, modern town and a vital educational hub. Msida is one of the most well-connected towns in Malta. It sits at a major traffic junction, and almost all bus routes traveling between Valletta and the northern or central parts of the island pass through Msida. This makes public transport exceptionally convenient. The town is also highly walkable, with a flat promenade running along the marina. For longer journeys or quick trips, taxis and ride-hailing services are readily available.

One of the most famous events during the feast is the ġostra, a traditional game where local men attempt to run up a heavily greased wooden pole suspended over the sea to retrieve flags at the far end. The festival also features traditional band marches, decorated streets, and fireworks reflecting over the marina water.
