Kalkara

Kalkara is a picturesque coastal local council located in the South Eastern Region of Malta, situated on the eastern side of the Grand Harbour. The local parish feast, dedicated to St. Joseph, is celebrated with great enthusiasm in the second week of July, featuring street decorations, brass band marches, and spectacular fireworks.

Kalkara is easily accessible from Valletta and the Three Cities. The local bus network (primarily routes 3 and 103) connects Kalkara to Valletta and other neighboring towns. Alternatively, a scenic water taxi or ferry service operates from nearby Birgu to Valletta, providing a delightful way to cross the Grand Harbour. Within the village, most attractions are within easy walking distance.
