About Nellaidhoo
Nellaidhoo is an island in South Thiladhunmathi, Maldives. With a population of approximately 400, it is known as small Haa Dhaalu island. The local community traditionally relies on fishing, with tourism growing rapidly since the government opened local islands to visitors in the 2010s. The Island has embraced guesthouse tourism, and today visitors can experience authentic Maldivian island life alongside comfortable tourist facilities.
The climate is tropical with year-round warm temperatures (28–32°C). The dry northeast monsoon (December–April) brings the best weather; the wet southwest monsoon (May–November) brings more rain but also lush vegetation, better surf conditions, and fewer crowds. The Island is compact enough to explore on foot, with most facilities clustered around the harbour area.

Ask on WhatsAppFood & Dining
Guesthouse dining. Most establishments serve Maldivian staples such as garudhiya (fish broth), mas huni (shredded smoked tuna with coconut), roshi (flatbread), and fresh grilled reef fish. Many guesthouses offer half-board or full-board meal packages; booking at least breakfast is recommended as restaurant options may be limited.
Cafes & Nightlife
Fresh coconut water, bottled water (tap water is not potable on most islands), and soft drinks. Alcohol is not available on local inhabited islands — visiting resort day trips or resort islands are the only option for beer, wine, or spirits. Non-alcoholic mocktails and fresh fruit juices are widely available at guesthouses.
